Eleven Years Down the River

Synopsis:
In August 1989, 51 people died on the river Thames when the Dredger Bowbelle collided with the pleasure cruiser Marchioness. Now, eleven years later the truth has finally been revealed how this terrible tragedy came about. How and why did both the shipping companies become so lax in their safety procedures? Why were crews allowed to operate 1470 ton vessels under the influence of alcohol? Why did the authorities allow such a dangerous vessel to ply the Thames at all? Whey were hands removed from the bodies of the victims? Based on the revealing transcripts of the recent Public Investigation, the play dramatically reconstructs these hearings, with testimony from all the key witnesses involved, in a powerful and informative piece of theatre.

Sticks and Stones

Synopsis:
Told over three decades it tells the story of three families whose lives become irrevocably intertwined by events in Northern Ireland. The play is set in Derry, Surrey and Belfast and begins in 1972. Against the backdrop of historical events we see how the characters lives are changed forever. It is these events which show how the individuals come to feel the way they feel and the play makes no judgements as to who is right or wrong.

Those Who Trespass Against Us

Synopsis:
In February 2000 Victoria Climbie died as a result of one of the worse child abuse cases this country has ever seen. She was only eight years old. The following year Marie-Therese Kouao and Carl Manning were convicted of her murder. The full story of the abuse that Victoria suffered at their hands became public knowledge. How Victoria died became widely documented, how she had been failed by the public agencies whose job it was to protect her was not so well reported. The play highlights what went wrong, examining the role played by the four Social Service Agencies, two Police Child Protection Teams and two hospitals that would see Victoria's life slip through their fingers.
