Catie O'Keefe holds a BA in Theatre from Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon USA and a Masters in Playwriting from Royal Holloway University of London UK. Her work has been performed in London at the Jerwood Centre, Southwark Theatre, Henley Fringe Festival, the Royal Court Upstairs, Theatre 503 and the 2008 Edinburgh Fringe Festival. She participated in the Fall 2007 session of the Royal Court's Young Writers Program and also the 2008 Invitation Class back at the Royal Court. the Space Between My Head and My Body premiered at London's Theatre 503 and then transferred to the Underbelly Baby Belly 3 in Edinburgh (now available for purchase through Original Works Publishing). Her Play Deception, Illusion and Nate was performed in the US and as part of the Dyssing Monday's Dyslexic festival in October 2008 and again in the Henley Fringe Festival in July 2009 in the UK. Extraction was produced in March 2010 at the Camden Etc. Theatre and then in June 2011 in New York City with Davenport theatrical. An Apartment with Grace was one of six winners to be produced for the Louisiana State University Outworks Festival in April 2010. She served as Playwright in residence at New Edgecliff Theatre from 2010-2013 of which they produced Darker in the 2011 Cincinnati Fringe Festival, Poe-ssessed in Oct 2011, the Canterville Ghost in Oct 2012 and Slow Descent From Heaven in Feb 2013. She wrote and directed Welcome Home: the Waddie Welcome Story at the historical Emery Theatre in May 2012. She is Artistic Director of Shark Eat Muffin Theatre Company and a recipient of the Peggy Ramsay Grant. Her work can be seen in the UK, US and Amsterdam.

Apartment with Grace, An
Synopsis:
In the 90's in America, Phil and Jenny share a common bond; they are best friends and they are both figuring out their sexuality. Jenny's fallen for Phil but Phil doesn't feel the same way as he confides in Jenny that he might be gay. From his detached relationship with his mother and absent Father figure, Jenny helps Phil to better understand himself while trying not to fall too hard for him. A tender piece about growing up and the people who help you get there.

Deception, Illusion and Nate
Synopsis:
Nate is confused and in pain. He awakes one morning to find a severe aching in his lower back to which his wife Sophie pays no attention. Since the discovery of his back hurting coinciding with the meeting of his brother in law's girlfriend, Gates, life seems to have taken a turn into the Twilight Zone. His wife starts accusing him and distancing herself from him in every way possible. Additionally, Nate seems to be able to control time and starts to re-live portions of his life in order to try and figure out what is making Sophie so angry. Though the more he tries the deeper into limbo he gets and can't figured out if it just the imaginary affair with Gates that Sofia is angry about or if her brother Sam and her have done something to provoke that constant pain following him around.

Extraction
Synopsis:
Extraction follows the story of Nizwar, who after taking a break from medical school to lend his services to a village in Africa, finds himself drawn into a career of illegal kidney transplants in London. He works in complete secrecy which his 'in demand' and lucrative services allow him to do but he soon finds that he's utterly lonely. After making a life changing mistake, he starts to realize how important human contact is beyond the extent of his scalpel.

Welcome Home: the Waddie Welcome Story
Synopsis:
This play is based up Tom Kohler and Susan Earl's book Waddie Welcome and the Beloved Community, a true story that took place in Savannah, GA. the play is a Dramatic version of the book helping to bring in a wider audience to know the story of Waddie Welcome. Mr. Welcome was a long time resident of Savannah who had Cerebral Palsy and despite him not being able to speak or move much, he became one of the most influential people of this time and his community as a social advocate. This story is about his journey to that place, the community that came together and the resounding message that knows no boundaries.

This performance was done with 17 actors but could be done with less or more depending on how many characters overlap.
