Stephen O'Rourke. Stephen O'Rourke's collection of short comic plays, Peas and Carrots, was a critical success in the 2003 New York City Fringe Festival. He has taken part in several runs of theAtrainplays,writing a play for a random draw of actors in the time it takes to ride the subway from Inwood to Far Rockaway. His short plays have been performed at the Neighborhood Playhouse, Ensemble Studio Theatre, and the Westbeth Theatre. He wrote the book and lyrics to Love Sucks, a punk rock musical produced by New York Musical Festival (NYMF). Mr. O'Rourke's solo play, The Longest Running Joke of the Twentieth Century was performed as part of the New York International Fringe Festival. He is a member of the Dramatists Guild.

Synopsis:
Reiko, a successful Japanese businesswoman and shopaholic, has been visiting her old friend Susan, who was her host sister when Reiko stayed with Susan's family in high school. Susan has fallen on hard times, and finally gets up the courage to ask Reiko for money at the last moment, as they ride the train to JFK airport. . .

Love Sucks: Punk's Labors Lost

Synopsis:
There is a "Battle of the Bands" coming up and lead singer of "The Molotovs" is alarmed that band members are more interested in girlfriends than music. So he bans everyone in the group from having a girlfriend until after the contest - though you can have sex with the same girl three times before she becomes a girlfriend. Meanwhile the all girl group "The Guttersnipes" have decided to give up boys until after the contest.
