Lies About My Father

Synopsis:
Once upon a time, Phil told a lot of lies. This caused more problems than he had anticipated. Wracked with guilt, having alienated his friends, his family, and most of the staff at Tesco, he ran away for a day and a half, intending to spend the rest of his life as a wandering minstrel (or something). But then he realised it was actually all his dad's fault, and that changed everything.

Lucy and the Hawk

Synopsis:
Something's happening to Elliott and Lucy. He can't seem to concentrate. She feels like someone is following her, and her phone keeps ringing in the middle of the night. And whenever Elliott looks at the sky, a bird is circling, watching him. the universe is a big place, and the world is full of people, and maybe we aren't all so separate as we think. Lucy and the Hawk is a comedy about loneliness and peregrine falcons. It is a warm but surprising story that's part mystery, part peculiar romance, and a love letter to the landscape of Northumberland.

Mary Whitehouse looks down from wherever

Synopsis:
Trapped in a disappointingly unspecific afterlife, National Viewers & Listeners Association campaigner Mary Whitehouse tries to maintain her standards and sense of proportion. It's difficult: the room isn't what she hoped for, filth is leaking in through the television, and even God seems to lack the courtesy to return her correspondence. Looking out at the world of the living, she can't help but ask herself whether all that fuss was worth it. Phil conducts an extended experiment in empathy, imagining what it must be like to battle the many-headed forces of progress armed only with a modest twinset, a stylish pair of horn-rims, and convictions growing less and less unshakeable by the moment. Mary Whitehouse Looks Down from Wherever is a solo performance about self-righteousness, censorship and doubt. It asks how we decide what to tolerate, what it means to be an idealist, and whether anything is sacred. Is there a difference between censorship that's repressive, and censorship that protects? What's it like to stand against progress, and face all that ridicule? And what DID Mary find funny?
