Outside Edge Theatre is the only theatre company working nationally and internationally to produce work focused on substance-misuse. They aim to support people affected by chemical addiction by working with them to recognise their potential, and build skills and confidence in all stages of recovery. The company was founded by Phil Fox, an actor and former addict, in 1998. Working with addicts and former addicts, the company performs plays drawing on personal experience in treatment centres and prisons as well as theatres.

Double Whammy

Synopsis:
On release from jail, Nikki, a graduate from the prison drug program, is met by her dealer brother offering her a lift and some work. With little money and the only prospect of a nights sleep in a homeless hostel Nikki climbs into his car unsure if she's ever going to get out again. Clean.

One Day at a Time

Synopsis:
A play looking at how Bill Wilson co-founded with Dr Bob Smith Alcoholics Anonymous, helped it grow and then set it free. Bill Wilson struggles to stay sober. Criticised by fellow recovering alcoholics, Bill meets with an old friend who suggests a path through his troubles. Rockston Stories

Synopsis:
Rockston Stories reflects the splintered, chaotic and at times absurdly comic world of people who have been affected by addiction, chemical or otherwise. Experienced through the perspective of someone in active drug addiction who is travelling through time and space shattering expectations in a confrontation with the truth about addiction, and the world around us. Part of the newly-refurbished Hoxton Hall's relaunch season. Today, Hoxton has become known amongst crack cocaine users as 'Rockston', as it is the main supply area in London for crack cocaine.

Shooting the Moon

Synopsis:
It's hot, Armageddon hot. The city sky line burns bright with the threat of riot and rebellion. A drug gang is frantically harvesting their crop. Tensions are running high, paranoia is at fever pitch. With the threat from police and rival gangs imminent the last thing they need is the arrival of a mysterious woman, Anna. Anna is searching for her lost child, rumoured to have been kidnapped by the gang. In this desperate land of drugs, gangs and violence Anna is prepared to do anything for her cause. But her love is put to the ultimate test as her quest takes her to the edge of life and closer to the brink of insanity.

Standing on the Edge

Standing On The Edge is a fundraising event of drama, theatre and music with a special guest presentation by Simon Woodroffe in support of the companies work. The Outside Edge Theatre Company is the UKs only professional theatre company that works with people affected by drug and alcohol addiction. The company uses theatre and drama to give people affected by substance-misuse a voice - enabling them to reach and recognize their potential, find an identity and build skills and confidence that acts as a catalyst for positive change. It provides theatre interventions in treatment facilities, prisons and hostels, training for professionals and groundbreaking professional theatre, in theatres, art centres and site-specific venues throughout London and the UK.
