A'Body's Aberdee
Synopsis:
A'body's Aberdee opens the can of worms that is Scottish local politics, and follows the council's new PR man Jim 'Plimsolls' Hughes as he weaves his broon-troosered way through the hellish circles of Aberdee City Council. Jim puts the hyphen in Public-Private Partnership under the microscope, and discovers some very unsavory things indeed: a Provost whose unusual sexual tastes are sponsored by the council; a local magnate with plans for a new hospital with no patients; the three worst fitba teams in Europe - not to mention the controversial statue of Wavy Davy Mackay, and an illegal recipe for tiffin. Yes - it's 'Your Aberdee, My Aberdee - A'Body's Aberdee!!!'

Land of Cakes, The
Synopsis:
Your continuity man, the link person, that inner....Jimmy Spankie of the soul - what happens if you wake up one morning and he's NOTHERE? You know, the voice that says....Ah'm still hungry....there's that peh in the fridge....I'll get a cab hame, must mind and feed the dog....is it rubbish day the morn?.... well, what happens if it dries up? For Davie, Doag, Chris and Michelle and several of the other inhabitants on the ward at a large hospital, set in a city (with a boat), on the East Coast of Scotland, this is just what has happened. Nationally acclaimed Dundee poet and essayist Don Paterson tackles the question of losing your narrator, in this hilarious, brilliant and eventually shocking journey into the heart of darkness. Six different characters confront their past and future in a dance that encompasses both the personal and the universal - underscored by the haunting and atmospheric music of Gordon McPherson.
