        Rotto Boys

Rotto Boys

Synopsis:
Four men who once played cricket together meet for their annual weekend reunion on Rottnest Island, a popular holiday spot out from Perth. Cocker has long nursed a grievance about the untimely and inadequately explained departure from the team of Junior, a gifted batsman, believing that this desertion cost the team a place in the final. Information he has recently received casts doubt on the reasons Junior has previously given, and he makes it clear to Freud and Davis that he intends to press Junior for the truth. They deflect him to protect Junior, who has revealed to them in Cockers absence that his wife has just walked out on him. Freuds insistence on playing a game of revelation leads to a heated confrontation about Juniors lack of candour. After a false climax, during which it seems that all the secrets are out, Junior, who harbours a grievance of his own, finally reveals the full truth to Cocker. Cocker is faced with choosing between keeping faith with Junior or revealing the news to the others in order to cast off the emotional weight of being responsible for his secret.
