Call It Peace: Meditations from North America
Synopsis:
Rich, an American journalist abroad, is imprisoned in a small cell with Cal, a young backpacker from Canada. Together, Rich and Cal are forced to discover the internal strength to survive their kidnapping by a terrorist organisation that keeps its motivations hidden. But when Cal dies, rich escapes further and further into his memories of his life with Abby, his girlfriend. Is Rich slowly being driven mad? Is Rich slowly being driven mad? Or is he truly having visions? Whichever is the case, Rich is on a unique journey of self-discovery that will lead him to some startling conclusions. . . Call it Peace:Meditations from North America is the first in a trilogy of plays by American playwright, Anthony P Pennino. The complete cycle of plays highlights the distinctly American experiences of death and war throughout a half century of conflict, beginning with a new drama inspired by the events of September 11th, the kidnapping of the American journalist Daniel Pearl and America's commitment to the war against terrorism.

Chokehold
Synopsis:
"The play, Chokehold, is extremely political. The work is taking a look at police shootings that seem to be on the rise over the past twelve months. I am taking a different tactic here, though. The work takes a dark turn. I saw this statement that John Kennedy had made: "Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable." And that quotation seem to be extremely applicable to what we are experiencing now. From Ferguson to North Charleston to Baltimore, we have seen police use lethal force against (mostly) men of color with little to no consequences. There have been protests with the vast majority of protesters engaging in peaceful demonstrations; they have been maligned by a number of outlets of the mainstream media. So, what if a handful of individuals decided to take next darkly logical step and return violence for violence? Could they go through with it? That is the question of the play." - Anthony P Pennino

Devil and Tom Walker, The
Synopsis:
This is an adaptation of Washington Irving's story, the Devil and Tom Walker. This description is from Metropolitan Playhouse: "Set in 1787, the Devil and Tom Walker's titular hero (Tom, not the other one), hasn't very far to look to find sin. In his town of thrift, industry, fidelity, and fellowship, he stands out as miserly, slothful, irreverent, misanthrope. He is, in short, the perfect client for the Devil, who approaches him with a familiar bargain: in return for a pirate's horde of riches, Tom need only provide the Devil with his immortal soul. Tom is reluctant: the bargain sounds like a lot of work. But when that great Negotiator presents Tom with a surprise gift, the contract is signed, and a very funny yarn (with a surprising moral to boot) spins out."

Dia De Los Muertos
Synopsis:
the year is 1916. the world is at war. Kings are falling, and empires are crumbling. And into a small Mexican village near the U.S. border walks Devlyn Byrne, newly arrived from Ireland. there, she meets Pablo Carrillo, a Mexican doctor, and together they embark on a journey for the honor of both families. Or so Pablo believes. Devlyn certainly has a hidden agenda she is not ready to reveal. Dia de los Muertos is a daring new play from Core Creative Productions. Told in English and Spanish, it is both a tale of magical realism and a deconstructed Western. Dia de los Muertos is a story of individuals struggling to be true to themselves in a world disintegrating into violence. And in such a place and in such a time, only one can grow into something more while another descends into darkness.
