Carlos Perez has a Master's in English and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre. His short stories have been published in various literary journals. His play for young people titled Folktales for Fun was published by Pioneer Drama Service. He has been commissioned to write plays and screenplays for various organizations. His plays How the Beetle Got Her Colors and Other Tales from Latin America, along with Caught Between Two Worlds-Anglo and Latino was toured by Kansas City Young Audiences. His play Visions in Amber placed in the Latino division of the Southwest Festival of New Plays, and in the stage category of the Writer's Digest Magazine Competition. He was a semi-finalist in the Chesterfield Film Project and a quarter-finalist in the Maui Screenwriters Competition. His screenplay Strays placed in the Cinematalk Screenplay Competition. He's a member of the Dramatists Guild of America, the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, and a member in good standing of the Screen Actors Guild. Carlos is a tenured full-time instructor of Theatre at Maple Woods College in Kansas City, Missouri. He is open to freelance writing.
