Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves

Synopsis:
The Baghdad Panto. As temperatures soar and water rationing breaks out, Vera's Casbah Bar is threatened with closure. When was the last time anyone saw a rain cloud? And what is that mysterious rumbling sound that can be heard in the ancient salt mines beneath the Blackheath desert? Can Ali Baba, aided by a love struck dame and a sand-dancing camel, find the key to the cave and save the day in this meteorological melodrama? A colourful reinvention of a famous story, original live music and criminally difficult audience participation add up to make this one of the most enjoyable family Christmas shows in London.

Blackbirds

Blackbirds
Blackbirds gives a compelling account of the London Blitz told by a group of Londoners who remained in the city. Here the survivors recount their vivid memories; in their own words. In the first month of the Blitz alone 5,730 people were killed and 9,003 seriously injured. By the end of the Blitz in May 1940, just 9 short months later, 43,000 people had been killed, half of them in London.
