Golden Sorrow, A
Synopsis:
A romantic historical adventure based on a little-known incident in the immediate post-Napoleonic era in Europe. . . a confrontation between Franz, Duke de Reichstadt and Napoleon's bastard son, Alexandre Walewski. Although nearly the same age, both young men are vastly different in background and character, yet both are loved by the same woman. the result of their confrontation very nearly disturbs the balance of Europe. the play is based on history, but like every story it has its own reality. In the light of personal interpretation of the characters and of their reactions, the author has chosen to believe that what might have happened did happen.
