He straightens up, stares out at the ancient mountains, and wonders what his boy's excuse is this time. . .The White Cemetery in Kabul stands as a tiny icon of misadventure, and the final resting place for an international cast of soldiers, explorers, aid workers and diplomats whose deaths span three centuries.
