Marisel is a bilingual actress and writer raised in Caguas, Puerto Rico. At the age of eighteen, she relocated to New York City to study at SUNY college where she majored in Communications and Marketing. After graduating, she continued her theatre training at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Shes written many short stories and poems, but it wasnt until she joined the LAByrinth Theatre Masterclass that she started working on plays. Soon after the masterclass, she had the privilege to join the ESPA family at Primary Stages. Since then she has written several short plays, one acts and two full lengths including What Do We Do Now, Half Mexican, Whip Me! Stouffers Meat Lasagna and Foreign Policy According to Mother among others. Her work has been produced by New York Madness, Caps Lock Theatre, Core Artist Ensemble at The Barrow Group and Primary Stages Detention Series. Shes also the co-producer of the Television Film Pasaporte a la Fama. Pasaporte has been broadcast on Telemundo Network and Cine Latino. As an actress shes worked with The Spanish Repertory Theatre, Old Vic New Voices, Labyrinth Theater Company, ESPA, Premiere Stages and Teatro Iati among others. Shes a proud member of AEA, SAG-AFTRA and The Old Vic New Voices.
