Alison Potoma was born in Pearl River, NY. She attended Syracuse University where she earned her BFA in Acting. Alison then went on to spend a year working as an actor and tutor in NYC before moving to Boston to pursue her MFA in Theatre Education at Emerson College. While at Emerson, Alison was the co-winner of the 2004 Rod Parker Award and subsequently had her play, Top Hats and Old Standards, produced by Emerson Stage. She was also selected as one of 50 playwrights to be included in the 2005 Boston Theatre Marathon with her piece "Making Music." Alison currently resides in Malden, MA where she teaches middle school art and Drama. She continues to write innovative theatrical pieces. She currently attends Boston University, working on her MS in Arts Administration.
