In June 2010, over cups of tea and Marmite on toast, a bunch of theatre practitioners talked about wild swimming, the kind of theatre they wanted to see more of and they talked about doing things that scared them. Six months later Precious Cargo had been born. Jonluke McKie is artistic director of Precious Cargo and works with producer Becci Sharrock, head of participation Toni Mc Elhatton and coordinators of happenings and events Jayne Humphreys and Rachael Glover, all of whom work together on the devising and development of our work. What we do... We make theatre, for venues as well as more unusual spaces. We devise, work with writers and collaborate with all sorts of artists. We have a distinctive style; a mix of intelligent, contemporary theatre that is accessible to theatre-types and new audiences alike. We run participatory projects that have impact and we create events that engage artists and new audiences.

Last Drop, The
Synopsis:
Welcome to the last drop! Up here on the edge of town and the corner of the map, the rain's lashing against the windows. A storm is raging, the sky is heavy with secrets and a flood of forgotten things is creeping uphill. But don't you worry, here at the Last Drop nothing changes! It's warm inside, like a mother's embrace. Our storytelling bartender will serve your comforting usual and stack up the sand-bags to keep the watery wolf from the door. An immersive play exploring motherhood and secrecy set upstairs at the Bridge Hotel in Newcastle.

Thin Air

She had everything going for her. A job, a relationship, a family. She was juggling all the things that keep a person's head above water. Feet firmly on the tightrope. We've all felt that.
