Amanda Price is a full-time playwright living deep within the idyllic surrounds of the Gold Coasts hinterland. Several of her plays, The Never Days, Into White, The Visitation of Little Birds and Stick your Labels Here have received a variety of awards at drama festivals, and others continue to be performed by theatrical groups and high schools. In 2008 and 2009 Amanda was commissioned to write and direct plays for a range of events including arts festivals, Shakespearean festivals and educational conferences. Amanda is an enthusiastic member of Playlab, and is ever grateful to be afforded the privilege of telling stories.

Into White

Synopsis:
During the sinister years of Stalin's reign millions of Russian citizens were exiled to the infamous gulags. In these prison camps, words like survival, endurance and redemption were redefined. Into White is a story set in two time periods. A grandmother tells her granddaughter the story of a group of female prisoners whose lives were inexorably changed by a coincidental discovery, a discovery that challenged not only them but the gulag administrators that persecuted them. Inspired by the writings of gulag prisoners, Into White reminds us that it takes more than barbed wire to imprison the human spirit.

Never Days, The

Synopsis:

Wendys life is traumatically altered when a horrific car accident leaves her a paraplegic. But far worse than the physical distress is the emotional trauma of watching her family unravel as they each try to make sense of the tragedy. Into this tumultuous mix of emotions step Peter Pan and Captain Hook, the first a childhood friend who is undeterred by Wendys condition, and the other her dark nemesis, who urges her to act in the best interests of those she loves. In an unlikely turn dark fantasy is overshadowed by darker realities and Wendy alone can determine the outcome.    -
