Charles Purcell is a Sydney-based actor and writer. Since graduating from the University of Technology's creative writing program in 2011, Charles has taken part in the ArtStart Young Screenwriters' Program at Metro Screen, participated in atyp's Fresh Ink National Studio, and undertaken a dramaturgy internship with PlayWriting Australia under the mentorship of Chris Mead. In 2012 Charles wrote and performed work for Shopfront Contemporary Arts and Performance, Griffin Theatre Company's Griffringe, and Tamarama Rock Surfers' Cut & Paste. He is a member of performance ensemble piLAB, and co-founded independent company Starving Wolf with which he was a recent resident of The Rocks Pop-Up Artists' Initiative. Most recently Charles worked as actor and dramaturg on Tim Spencer's Show Me Yours, I'll Show You Mine, winner of the Innovation in Theatre award and award for Best Performance in the 2012 Melbourne Fringe Festival.
