Law and disOrder

Synopsis:
Do you remember that person who, no matter what great things you accomplished, they always seemed to be just a little bit better? That's how Kate Walker feels about Tonya Green, her co-worker at the largest law firm in Memphis. When they were in law school, Kate finished 2nd in her class, right behind Tonya. When they took the bar exam, Kate's score was beaten by only a few people, one of them was Tonya. Now they share an office and Kate finds herself in a familiar position: playing second fiddle to Tonya. Tonya seems to have nothing but good things happen for her and Kate can't seem to do anything that would cause Ms. Duckworth, their boss, to pay her any attention. But, things are looking up for Kate when Scott Duckworth, the boss' nephew, moves into town and Ms. Duckworth needs somone to show him around. Kate readily volunteers for the job, endearing her to Ms. Duckworth. When Kate meets Scott Duckworth, she quickly discovers that this is one apple who fell far far from the tree. Scott is a complete redneck, with no social skills, little intelligence, and worse hygene. To make the matters worse, he believes Kate is the girl of his dreams. Kate now must find a way, with the help of her best friend, Mark to ditch Scott without royally ticking off Ms. Duckworth. Meanwhile, Tonya is gonna do what she can to make sure that Kate is not gonna overtake her spot as the firm's top young lawyer by going out with the boss' nephew. What follows is an adventure for Kate that will change her life forever. Feelings will be hurt, perceptions will change, and the audience will laugh throughout the whole thing.

What Happened to Johnny Star?

Synopsis:
Jim Hunter is a reporter for the International Explorer, a newspaper that he started with the help of his friend Julie King. the play takes place a few years after Jim and Julie have left the New York Times to go into business for themselves. Since then, Jim's favorite subject for his paper has been Johnny Star, the 1960s Rock icon, and one of New York's favorite sons. Johnny Star died in 1970 of Lung Cancer, right when he was at the height of his fame. This is the truth as far as everyone knows. But, Jim doesn't believe that this is the truth at all. Jim uses his paper to investigate the death of Johnny Star and develops the notion that Johnny Star never actually died, but is still out there. Jim is certain of this and instead of listening to his co-workers or friends who insist that he should give the story up, he proceeds to make Johnny Star his top story. It's a story that seems silly, harmless, and even amusing. But, soon the articles may prove to cause Jim more pain than they are worth. Jim begins receiving several anonymous letters asking him to quit writing the Johnny Star articles "or else!". Jim is also visited by a very angry, and to Jim, a very attractive, Sally Star, the only daughter of Johnny Star. Sally also insists that Jim stops the articles. As if Jim didn't have enough problems, His ex-wife Susan Hunter would love nothing more than to wrestle the ownership of the paper away from Jim by making deals and out-maneuvering Jim in court when their divorce case comes up. She knows that the paper is the one thing Jim holds dear and would love to watch him suffer. Jim ignores all pleas to give up his "life work". One day while working alone in his office, Jim disappears without a trace. then, it's up to Jim's friends, co-workers, and a crazy private investigator named Andrew Davis to find out what has happened. Where is Jim Hunter? What are Sally's true motivations? Who is writing the letters? And finally, What happened to Johnny Star? Watching the characters search for answers is a laugh a minute right up until the climatic ending.
