Harper Ray is an established theatre maker notable for his highly visual and immersive practice. He has created numerous Five Star and critically-acclaimed works of contemporary theatre; with past works described as 'Genre busting' (The Scotsman) and 'Visually spectacular' (The Sunday Times). He specialises in creating and overseeing new theatre projects and commissions. He graduated from Dartington with a degree in Contemporary Theatre. He won a fringe award for Best Actor in 1998. He wrote additional material for children's musical Ugly Duckling, which was nominated for the 2012 DarkChart theatre award. He is a Director of the Board for Scarabeus Theatre; an International Contemporary Aerial Theatre Company, a Member of the Institute for Learning and Fellow of The Royal Society of Arts,a 21st Century Leader with Battersea Arts Centre and a professional Member of Directors Guild of Great Britain. He is a regular theatre critic for a variety of newspapers and journals.

Murder

Synopsis:
When a famous guest is found dead at Murder Manor; each of the exotic suspects is proven to have both motive and opportunity. However, no one is owning up for the audacious crime. What ensues is a heady mix of fast paced comedy, lavish circus performance and even a little light hearted sleuthing; as the eccentric host and bumbling detective play fast and loose with the unusual house guests. In true 'whodunit' style the final revelation flips the murder investigation on its head with dramatic results.

Scandalous!

Synopsis:
Set in the 18th Century, the story follows brothel madam Ivy Paige, her band of harlots and her complicated romantic relationship with aristocrat The Marquis of Gray. Ivy Paige is on the rise to become London's most notorious and successful Bawd. However, years before Ivy borrowed money from Gray, her would be suitor. To get her house in order, she has hatched a plan to settle the debt. The rewards will be independence and power, but the cost maybe her heart.

Notes:
Co-Written with Lucinda Ryan, with Music by Pete Saunders. The audience is treated as customers of the house. They are given 'Guineas' to spend on various acts, which help the narrative to unfold.

Tender Deadly Voices

Synopsis:
A little town on the coast has been plagued by a series of unfortunate events as long as anyone remembers. The audience attend as wedding guests as each of the towns unfortunate inhabitants take turns to tell their stories simultaneously while seated with the guests at banqueting tables. The audience are then lead to meet the cause of the mystery the Siren herself and her next victim.

Notes:
This work has A highly experimental structure involving four stories being told simultaneously in A space. The Audience must listen to the tellers At their table, but let the sounds bleed over As An Activity At one table may influence the story on the next.
