David West Read is a Lila Acheson Wallace Playwriting Fellow at the Juilliard School, and a graduate of the MFA program in Dramatic Writing at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. His play the DREAM OF the BURNING BOY was recently produced Off-Broadway at the Roundabout Underground, after being developed at the O'Neill Playwrights Conference. the production was nominated for numerous awards, including the Drama League Award for Distinguished Production of a Play, and the Outer Critics' Circle John Gassner Award for an American Play. Other work has been seen at the Pacific Playwrights Festival, Cape Cod Theatre Project, Samuel French OOB Festival, Toronto Fringe and SummerWorks. Selected honors include the Lecomte du Nouy Prize, John Golden Prize, and the Robertson Davies Playwriting Award. Commissions include Roundabout Theatre and South Coast Repertory, and screenplays for Bunce Media and B-Spoke Entertainment. David is a native of Toronto, CanadA.

Synopsis:
