Morna Regan is originally from Derry City, Northern Ireland but is currently living in London. She studied English and Drama at the University of London and Central School of Speech and Drama and received a Fullbright Scholarship to undertake an MFA in Theatre at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles. She worked as an actor for many years before starting to write, performing with such companies as the Abbey and Peacock, Ireland's National Stages, Rough Magic and the Gate and various UK and US companies. Morna's short film the CASE OF MAJElla MCGINTY was directed by Kirsten Sheridan and executive produced by Ed Guiney. the film was the winner of the National Jury Award Best Irish Short Film at the Cork Film Festival, winner of the Festival Award at the Foyle Film Festival, winner of Best Foreign Short at the Santa Clarita International Film Festival and the Gold Award for Independent Short Film at WorldFest Houston and joint-winner of the Silver Spire Award at the San Francisco International Film Festival. It was also nominated for Best Short Film at the Irish Film and TV Awards. Morna's first play, MIDDEN was originally produced by Rough Magic Theatre Company and directed by Lynne Parker at the Traverse Theatre, Edinburgh, Hampstead Theatre and on an Irish Tour. Morna was the recipient of an Edinburgh Fringe First Award in 2001, the Stewart Parker Radio Play Award, the Jayne Snow Award at the Dublin Theatre Festival, an Irish Times/ESB Awards Nomination and the Heidelberg European Author's Award. Morna has recently completed her first feature-length screenplay, AWAY FROM the SUN. Her most recent play the HOUSEKEEPER was produced by Rough Magic Theatre Company in April 2012.

House Keeper, The
A darkly humorous psychological thriller exploring the nature of possession, inheritance and corruption. A woman stripped by recession of everything she has ever worked for takes a stand in another womans living room, only to find she has disturbed a hornets nest of unimagined proportions.
