J. E. Robinson (born 08 Oct 1965). His play in one-act, "Brothers Kipling," appeared Off-Off-Broadway in 2003, followed by the play in one-act "Mother's Day" appearing in 2005 as part of the Juneteenth Jamboree of New Plays (Louisville, Kentucky). An essayist and fiction writer as well as a playwright, Robinson published the novel "Skip Macalester" in 2006 and "The Day Rider and Other Stories: A Collection" in 2013; for his work, he has received three Pushcart Prize nominations, the Illinois Arts Council Literary Award, and the Award in Gay Literature from the 2014 San Francisco Book Festival.

Mother's Day
Synopsis:
Republican Congressman Alfred Macalester prepares to run for the United States Senate, but he needs to see his longtime mistress at his mother's house. Alfred's wife Rose is coming, though, along with an operative from the state party, who knows a little too much for Alfred's good. Alfred's mother, Madelyn, has a surprise of her own in store: can the operative get all to say "Mama Goes to Washington?"
