Halloween: Fright Night
Synopsis:
It is a cold rain swept night. The 31st October, All Hallows Eve or Halloween. A young woman, Brigitte Holsten, finds herself stranded and alone in a remote part of Austria when her car breaks down. With the rain drumming on the roof of the car and unable to use her mobile 'phone she looks through the clouded windows searching for the lights of a house. A sudden flash of lightning illuminates a large castle and then it is gone. Has she imagined it? Wiping the condensation from the windscreen she scours the horizon desperately searching for the castle but nothing. Another bolt and there it is. A large and imposing gothic castle. Quickly gathering some of her belongings she leaves the car and battles her way through the pouring rain to a place she hopes will provide shelter and safety. And thus the play opens - The action takes place in the main reception hall of Castle Trappe. The castle is populated by a number of dysfunctional characters. Best summed up by Cedric, the manservant, in trying to dissuade Brigitte from staying he says, 'I'm afraid this entire household is unstable'. A lecherous Count, a voluptuous Countess, an emotionless maid, a depressed apparition, a manic clock and the entire household held together by a faithful manservant. That is until unexpected guests arrive -.

Long Shadows
Synopsis:
A thriller and murder mystery combined with a generous helping of laughter. Its early November and recent storms have damaged the roof of the Copley Dell Guest House. Several of the guest rooms are out of action and it has been closed to allow a local builder to repair the damage. The guest house is a small family business which had been built up over many years. It is now run by Kathy and James York, following the death of Kathy's parents in mysterious circumstances. Copley Dell is a picturesque village on the Dorset coast and relies heavily on the tourism industry. A local business man, Len Prescott has a plan to generate more public interest in the area by re-developing the derelict gothic Manor House into a theme park. Although the guest house is officially closed, several unexpected and uninvited guests arrive over the course of a weekend. The weather is causing havoc to the roads and transport links; and there is little option but for them to be given accommodation until the roads are clear. Over the course of a few days and trapped in the confines of the guest house and the immediate village, we see deep emotions stir and tensions run high, as secrets and deceptions are unmasked.
