Pamela is a New York based performer, playwright and musician. A native of Detroit Michigan, Pamela received her BFA in Theatre from Wayne State University. She went on to get her MFA in Acting from Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University where she studied with Bill Esper and Maggie Flannigan. After moving to New York, she received the 1998 Princess Grace Award for emerging theater artists. Pamela has worked extensively on stage from Regional to Off-Broadway, including at The Attic Theatre (Detroit), The Court Theatre of Chicago, and The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey. She appeared as the title character in Amaryllis Theater's production of Brian Friel's Molly Sweeney at the Adrienne Theater in Philadelphia (which garnered her Best Actress honorable mention from the Philadelphia Weekly). She is a long time company member of the critically acclaimed, Theater Breaking Through barriers (TBTB), and has performed with them in numerous Off-Broadway productions--most recently as Portia in Shakespeare's The Merchant of Venice at Theater Row on 42nd Street. Pamela has also appeared in film and television, including the Independent comedies, Goldberg P.I. and One Angry Man, both starring Jackie Mason, and had recurring feature roles on the daytime dramas One Life To Live and Guiding Light . Pamela is a co-founder of WoodwardAvenue Productions which produced her first play, Woman In The Animal Kingdom, in the 2000 New York International Fringe Festival-for which she received the award for Outstanding Performance. She composed original music and text for the experimental two-woman dance piece, Peripatesis, performed at PS 122 in February 2008. Her solo cabaret, Immaculate Degeneration, began as a loose collection of original songs and autobiographical stories which she first workshopped at the 6th International Blind In Theatre (BIT) Festival in Zagreb, Croatia. She returned to Zagreb in October 2011 to perform an expanded version. And in August 2012 WoodwardAvenue Productions premiered Immaculate Degeneration at the New York International Fringe Festival. Pamela also teaches drama, and has worked as a Teaching Artist for various arts organizations including Queens Theater In The Park, and as an intern for Community-Word Project.
