Synopsis:
Starring James Franco by The Same but Different is a performance about Fame; how we idolise it, how we hunger for it and how we loath it. When you enter the space the performers are waiting for the Movie Star James Franco. Will he ever arrive and what difference would it make? The performance makes use of propagandist, foreign, antiquated and irrelevant music and video, as well as dance and letters addressed to James Franco to create a performance style that is both humorous and sinister. The combination of failed reality and absurdism presented on stage creates a mise en scene somewhere between performance, event and a reality frighteningly similar to our everyday lives.
