Synopsis:
the Architecture of Seeing-REMIX is a collaboration created and performed by choreographer/performer Patricia Hoffbauer and writer/performer George Emilio Sanchez. This performance piece is a fierce crash course in the politics of identity in the new millennium. Through a series of madcap scenarios Hoffbauer and Sanchez move through an amusement park of racial and cultural stereotypes and turn them inside out to create new ones. the Architecture of Seeing-REMIX Dramatizes the tension between national myths and historical amnesia that commonly produces pop cultural icons.

Buried Up to My Neck While Thinking Outside the Box

Synopsis:
Specifically created for Dixon Place's new theatre, this premiere work sees performance artist George Emilio Sanchez buried up to his neck under a mountain of trash. Invoking the spirit of Samuel Beckett, the text interweaves memory, experience, and aspiration, creating a dialogue which addresses human mortality and the limitations of the imagination. What is the idealistic threshold democracy holds for all its citizens (and non-citizens alike) with respect to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness?
