Cup And Saucer

Synopsis:
Rupert writes novels for boys and Madge his wife types the. Rupert has always wanted to write a great book on psychology. Madge works part time at a bar and is having an affair with Rollo. Rupert accidentally breaks a cup and saucer and when he goes to find a replacement meets Deborah. She invites him to her cottage for the weekend. When Madge finds out she moves in with Rollo and Deborah moves in with Rupert. But things are not well in the new arrangements. Rollo gets violent and hits Madge and Deborah never consummates relationships she has with "arty" men.

Synopsis:
Mrs Garth-Bander feels it is her duty to invite George and Margaret over for a meal. The rest of her family cannot abide them and usually make excuses not to be present. Whilst domestic crisis follows domestic crisis at the Garth-Bander home - George and Margaret fail to turn up for tea and then fail to turn up for dinner and it looks like they will not put in an appearance for lunch

Likely Tale, A

Synopsis:
The old man is dying. His three adult children attend him. To keep them on their toes and out of malice he keeps changing his will in favour of a different offspring. His grandson Jonah arrives and is determined to get into the will by sucking up to his grandfather. But grandfather's eye has been caught by the new maid and in his latest will he leaves everything to her. Jonah turns his attention to one of his aunts thinking that if he seduces her he might get his hands on some of the property that way. It turns out that there is no money left and nobody will get anything from the will.

So Many Children

Synopsis:
Aggie a probation officer has always taken in her teenage clients to help them in their hour of need. At present she has three two boys Paul and Slippy and Anna a girl who stole a baby. The landlord threatens to sell the house unless she can come up with the £50 deposit to purchase the house herself. People from the past that she helped club together and get the money for her. However Aggie is being blackmailed by the woman next door - she knows that Aggie once went to prison - and she gets the money. Paul and Slippy get it back and make sure that the blackmailing is stopped. Just when things are looking good Aggie is taken ill and dies - she leaves the house to Anna and asks that she carries on her good work.
