Rosalind Scanlon is a professional Playwright, Theatre Director and Producer. She has had many of her plays and productions performed at The Riverside Studios, as well as productions at The Lyric Theatre (Hammersmith,) Chichester Festival Theatre, Waterman's Arts Centre and in many more Theatres, Arts Centre's and Fringe-Theatre venues throughout the UK and Ireland; Rosalind was the founding 'Artistic Director of The Irish Cultural Centre in Hammersmith London.' She has her own Theatre Company, 'Irish Repertory Theatre and Film Co UK'. She also set up and runs 'Act Your Age Drama' which facilitates theatre projects and creates plays for and with older women aged 55+. Rosalind's 'repertoire' of plays includes the Hit Shows 'DANCE HALL DAYS,' 'MOLLY MALONE THE MUISCAL', and 'SIMPLES OF THE MOON.' Rosalind has also directed and produced many theatre plays, by many established playwrights, (including Brian Friel, John Millington Synge and John B Keane.) She is also a highly successful Independent Producer of Irish Arts Events and Productions in the UK. She was the Producer and 'Artistic Director' of 'The Celtic Heart Festival' (at Riverside Studios) and the acclaimed Festival 'A Sense Of Ireland' (also at Riverside Studios.)

Synopsis:
Dance Hall Days is a vibrant large scale Irish Theatre Play which incorporates Irish music, dancing and a live Irish band! Set in a rural Irish Dance Hall in the 1950's, Rosalind Scanlon scripted the play from the memories of Irish elders who went to the dance halls in their youth.

Wash-House Stories

Rosalind Scanlon scripted and directed this large scale community play which revealed the personal lives of the women who used Fulham Wash House in the 1960s. Incorporating 1960s songs, the play was performed on the original site of the former public wash-house, by 20 local older women age 55+.
