Robin Seidman's Bio: Women of Roswell earned "Best New Play" at the Georgia Theater Conference, '06 Finalist at New York's American Globe Theater, Kennedy Center participation following a ACT/KCT nomination, and Finalist for the David Mark Cohen National Playwriting competition. Paint! ,Marc Chagall's Colorful Musical Adventure! will be produced at Actors' Playhouse's 2008 National Children's Theatre Festival. Recent productions include Teachers, the Musical! , a Metropolitan Atlanta Theater nominee, Giving, a puppet musical, the Peanut Man, a Target grant recipient, Javasu , Blue Suede Inn , Strange Gods ,Squid Kids, an aquarium musical school day Theater tour, and God is a Biker Chick. Published in 'O Georgia, Robin's short stories have won first place awards in Creative Loafing and Georgia Writer's Association's annual competitions. Her plays have been showcased at Atlanta stages including Jewish Theater of the South (Saudade), Push Push Theatre (Passion Fruit) , Process Theater (Hotel Burqua, Speed Date), Theater Gael (Ma Crime), Chattahoochee Tech (On Ice), and Georgia Tech (Dark Heart/commissioned piece.) She was guest playwright at Clark Atlanta University (Stork Stories) and guest author at Atlanta's Margaret Mitchell House (Mysterium Tremendum.) When a Chicago resident, Chicago Dramatists produced her full length romantic comedy (Cows in a Snowstorm.) A teacher of the gifted, she has served on the Advisory Boards of the Process Theatre and Working Title Playwrights. Robin is a member of SCBWI, and participated in New York's 2006 ASCAP Musical Theater Workshop and DC's 2007 Kennedy Center Playwriting Intensive.

Women of Roswell
Synopsis:
WOMEN OF ROSWELL is a forty-five minute fictional Drama about three of the female Roswell Cotton Mills workers who were accused of treason and forced to rail north during the Civil War. the play opens in July, 1864 outside the steps of the still-standing Bricks apartments that housed the cotton mill workers. Three strong women redefine home by confronting the limits of their freedom, and rediscovering their respective roles. In order to save her daughter, African American Emma disguises herself as a soldier, forcing Lia to find her own way as an Ivy Woolen Mill factory worker. A bond forges between Lia and Claire, an Irish worker, as the unlikely friends are banished from their homes and former ways of life when their factory is burned to the ground.
