Aliza began her career at Queens College, where she received a BA in Theatre. She has worked as a director, stage manager and writer in many different venues since. With Genesis Repertory, she directed Hamlet, the First Quarto and was AD for Avenge! the Spanish Tragedy, (Spotlight On Festival) and the Duel, (Samuel French Festival). She co-directed the Bacchae, (Cypreco Theatre Co.) which was performed, among other places, at the Cyprus Consulate and the HBO Summer Stage. She directed the showcase Cabaret: A New World (Towards Truth Prod.) and was AD/SM for Flyers & Other Tales (Midtown International Theatre Festival).At the Gene Frankel Theatre, she directed the Acoustic Nerve (Groove Mama Ink- One Act Festival) and Drum Beat (Ciona Taylor Productions). With the Looking Glass Theater, she directed the new works Cancel the Arugula and Aquarium in recent Forums, and directed & adapted the award-winning the Misanthrope. Her current adaptation of Moliere's the Imaginary Invalid, is currently running in the Looking Glass Theatre's Spring Writer/Director Forum. She will also be directing the Looking Glass's main stage children's show in the fall. She is currently an artistic associate of the Looking Glass Theatre and is the General Forum Coordinator.

Are You there, Zeus? It's Me, Electra

Synopsis:
Electra is determined to avenge her Father Agamemnon's death. Unfortunately, she's powerless-a teenager stuck at home with nothing but a Greek chorus that just won't go away. She will need to band together with her long-lost brother Orestes, their dim-witted sister Chrysothemis, their trusted friend Pylades, and a torrent of raging hormones to set her plot for revenge in motion. But will vengeance lead to happiness? And why does puberty have to be so tragic?

Imaginary Invalid, The

Synopsis:
A new adaptation, making the play about the dangers of over-medication. Includes dancer/doctor characters who warn the audience about the various side effects associated with the medications the Imaginary Invalid takes. She's got all the symptoms, but her doctors are the real disease.

Spanish Wives, The

Synopsis:
This groovy new show is based on Mary Griffith Pix's Restoration piece the Spanish Wives, having been completely reinvented and transplanted to the hippie streets of San Francisco, where the characters find themselves exploring their options in this quickly changing world. the Governor of Barcelona is now a college professor who is dipping his toes into the world of free love while still hoping to keep his marriage vows intact. But will the Professor's wife stay true to her husband? Meanwhile, their uptight houseguest is desperately trying to keep his own wife chained by her Apron strings to the traditions of the past. But, feeling the pull of the times herself, she realizes she has made the wrong choice by abandoning her first love. Luckily, for her, he's returned, and with the help of a slightly unconventional personal Guru, has tracked her down to San Francisco to win her back."
