Jake Shore was born in Providence, Rhode Island in 1988 and raised in Barrington, Rhode Island. He attended Goddard College's MFA in Creative Writing program and graduated in 2012. Important theater related mentors, teachers and collaborators are: Gary Shore, Ryan Boudinot, Neil Ryan, William Spadaro, Cara Moretto and Stephen Heskett. Theater credits include: Arson (written and directed by Jake Shore), at Theater Under St. Marks, 8 Sept. 2012; The Tracks to Shepherd's Gate.(written and directed by Neil Ryan and Jake Shore), The Red Room Theater, New York, 24 March 2012. Original short stories: "Arson"(September 19, 2012), Fiction365.com; "Legs"- (2012), The Pitkin Review ;"Stu's Hammock"- (2012), Calico Tiger. DOWN THE MOUNTAIN AND ACROSS THE STREAM written and directed by Jake Shore was awarded Overall Excellence in Playwriting Award by the New York International Fringe Festival 2013. Arson
Synopsis:
Who You Love presents three one acts by playwright Jake Shore: Act 1, "Arson," follows an artist as he discovers a painting is moving. Act 2, "Mistakes," visits a couple dealing with the death of their daughter. And Act 3, "Questions," is a comedy about two New Yorkers and a portrait of Sigmund Freud that speaks.
