Disappearance of Sadie Jones
Synopsis:
Sadie Jones wants to disappear. She walks a tightrope between reality and her imagination; a chaos of words, and silence. Sadie leads her lover and her sister into the strange landscape of her unconscious where speech is composed like music, buying apples is a lesson in absurdism and she sees words etched into her own skeleton. The Disappearance of Sadie Jones is a unique blend of language, image and physicality, inspired by the ideas of August Strindberg and companies such as Frantic Assembly.

Opposition
Synopsis:
In her new solo show Opposition, vocal gymnast and word cutter-upper extraordinaire Hannah Silva uses multiple art forms to dissect and parody political language, revealing the meaning, music and meaninglessness beneath the rhetoric of today's (big?) society. The audience pick up their name badges and become delegates at a political conference remixed as David Cameron's Big Society speech, the Weather, the News, slang, live Twitter feeds and Winston Churchill all get cut up and recomposed using a loop pedal, a tin whistle, and her extraordinary vocal gymnastics.

Prosthetics
Synopsis:
Prosthetics is a triptych of new work exploring meaning built through sound, vocal techniques, and linguistic experiments. The first piece, Citadel, layers articulations using a loop pedal to create a soundscape for poetry about Plymouth's tunnels. The second, Gaddafi, is a letter written by a ten year old boy to Colonel Gaddafi, in which he explains a game where an important word is chosen and repeated until the meaning is lost, and then transformed. The third piece, Prosthetics, is built around a line taken from a US documentary: 40% of those with prosthetic limbs will go back into war.
