Ballet in Seven Parts with No Dancing, A

Synopsis:
In A Ballet in Seven Parts with No Dancing, we follow a boy and girl's relationship as they progress through the good, bad, kooky and painful moments of first love. Each step of their relationship is underscored by the dancing records they play. (One of Crystal's very first plays! She can't remember who first did it . . . but beloved by smaller companies and those who love the subject of love (not to mention records)! Also a note from Crystal: the "Birdie" monologue can be great for auditions.)

Blueprint Project, The

Synopsis:
part of a program of new short plays presented by Gideon Productions. This description is from the company: "Gideon's producers, composed a single-paragraph plot synopsis-about the clashing agendas of a group of people surrounding a body in a room, awaiting the arrival of a 'medium' who would awaken the body-and gave it to four Dramatists with highly diverse playwriting voices to see how differently they would realize this plot as a short play. the result is four suprising plays, each with a unique style, moving characters and a different twist ending

Burning Beautiful

Synopsis:
The Wickapogue Plays were written by three very different playwrights specifically for one very inspiring location. They were performed as an evening of theatre in the backyard of a beautiful home near the ocean in Southampton, NY. The home's decking, lawn, driveway, pool, and view of surrounding agricultural reserves were all utilized in performance. During the process of writing and rehearsing the three separate pieces, director Daniel Talbott noticed some interesting parallels in characters written by J.Stephen Brantley and Crystal Skillman. These characters were both to be played by Jelena Stupljanin, and Daniel wondered if she might not play the same woman in both pieces. With a few quick revisions, Crystal and J.Stephen placed the character of Dina in each of their plays, one year apart.

Global Cooling: the Women Chill is the third site-specific theatrical event Women's Project has delivered to ArtsWorld Financial Center and is another installment of 'hit and run theater' where business people, tourists and shoppers traveling through the World Financial Center may walk around, through or in a play without even knowing they have a role in the performance. Synopsis:
F. Scott Fitzgerald said that there are no second acts in American lives, and the Brick sets out to prove him right with this collection of one-act plays. Taking on themes of U.S. history, politics and culture, these little nuggets of Americana take full advantage of our constitutional right to free speech in their wild, varied and often uncouth takes on our national experience.

Piper McKenzie's Dainty Cadaver

Synopsis:
18 playwrights. 3 plays. One performance of each. Piper McKenzie's Dainty Cadaver is an Exquisite Corpse-style playmaking project in which multiple playwrights collaborate on a single work without knowing what the hell the others are doing. For its inaugural edition, Piper McKenzie will present one-night-only performances of three new plays written in this unique collaborative style, with results ranging from inspired chaos to eerie synchronicity - all tied together by the unique voices of 18 hot playwrights, divided into three teams and staged by three directors. the teams and their performance details are as follows: TEAM A: Fri 1/28, 8pm: Johnna Adams, Eric Bland, Jeff Lewonczyk, Mac Rogers, Crystal Skillman, Art Wallace. Directed by Jordana Williams. TEAM B: Sat 1/29, 8pm: Danny Bowes, Matt Freeman, Qui Nguyen, Carolyn Raship, August Schulenburg, Alexis Sottile. Directed by Hope Cartelli. TEAM C: Sun 1/30, 3pm: Maggie Cino, James Comtois, John DeVore, Cara Francis, Rich Lovejoy, Justin Maxwell. Directed by John Hurley.

It is the day of the auditions for the school production of "Annie" and Andy knows which part he wants. the town is in a bad way and in desperation the Mayor has written to television host Betty Sweet for help. Andy arrives for the audition dressed in a red dress as Little Orphan Annie. He is derided by everyone. the Mayor says that he would never cast someone like him in the part. Only the new girl in town, Zorah, stands up for Andy. A photograph of Andy in the dress is leaked to the newspapers and the town becomes the laughing stock of America. Andy dreams of Mary Martin playing Peter Pan. Betty Sweet arrives and takes Andy to appear on her show where he will be cured and made into a proper boy. He is put into a mock up of his own room and told that unless he apologises and accepts being changed he will stay there forever. He refuses. Betty Sweet tells him that his mother has run off - so Andy agrees. On Betty's live programme he sees Mary Martin flying as Peter Pan and refuses to apologise. Zorah has rallied the school kids and they descend on to the television set - all dressed as Annie. Back in town Andy suggests that they put on a show that he has written to raise money. Mary Martin turns up and leads everyone in the final song of the show.
