Return Of The WildmanReturn Of The Wildman
Synopsis:
A wild figure emerges from the sea and scrambles up the shingle. We've seen him only once before& hundreds of years ago. The mythical Wild Man of Orford returns, determined to tell his story, and tales of other mysterious creatures that inhabit the folklore of our coast and beyond. Featuring sea shanties, music and the voices of local children, actor Martin Bonger delivers a shingle-shifting solo performance as the Wild Man - a man who will revive the wildness within us all. Return of the Wildman is a work in progress, which will be performed on September 18th during HighTide Festival, and then at Wonderful Beast's Storm of Stories 2016. It is part of a celebration of our coastal heritage, which includes a newly commissioned song cycle by Orford Primary School about the Orfordness Lighthouse, to be performed in Orford Church on September 19th.
