Albert's Bridge Fxtended
Synopsis:
Taking a temporary job with a team of bridge painters, philosophy student Albert Carter imagines he has found his true vocation but faces an agonising dilemma. Should he follow his heart, marry his true love Julie, and embark on a life of blissful, contemplative routine painting 'his' roadbridge? Or should he give in to family pressure, marry his long-suffering fiancée Sophie, and settle for a life of dull, secure conformity in his father's paint business? Whichever he decides, 1192B17 pitch epoxy is destined to play a crucial role. . .

Redcliffe Hermit, The
Synopsis:
"The Redcliffe Hermit is the most experimental play I have written. I tried to meld a number of preoccupations I had, all my bees in one bonnet. There was the history of the place. In the middle ages, Redcliffe was the residence of great shipping merchants, chiefly the Canynges family. William and Joan Canynges feature in the play, in a bad temper both of them. The hermit was a real one. We know his name, John Sparkes, and that he was installed in his cave in 1346 by Lord Berkeley."
