Synopsis:
Of her solo show, The Closet Bitch, Shana says, "The 'closet' referred to in the title is the closet formed by the typical rules women are taught to follow. The 'bitch' is what you get called when you come out of that closet. It's everything I write in my journal but feared saying for fear of putting people in jail, losing friends and embarrassing myself and my family. You know, thank God for statutes of limitations, cool family and friends and old Richard Pryor records." Directed by Kenneth Williams, The Closet Bitch was conceived by Solomon, a determined Bronx native who refuses to be labeled as the cute nice pushover. She plays 13 characters (a Jewish boss, Puerto Rican coke-sniffing mistress, Italian co-worker, drug-dealing and Princeton alumni father, close friends and more). Its a hilarious, inspirational, uninhibited account of her life and appeals to women and men alike.
