Winter Retreat
Synopsis:
"As the end of the world is set in stone, at least according to the Mayan calendar, it became an interesting theme for a short play festival. But I didn't want to limit the series to plays about hellfire or brimstone," says Scott C. Sickles, artistic director of the WorkShop theater Company. "Instead, I asked playwrights to consider cataclysms great and small. We have six plays that offer a wide array of interpretations regarding what constitutes an apocalypse. To one person it can be the "loss of a loved one, to another it's the loss of a favorite TV show." the plays, all penned by WorkShop theater Company playwrights, feature the talent of seventeen actors and 6 noteworthy directors: All My Problems by Laurie Graff, directed by Fritz Brekeller; Nero, Seneca, Agrippina, and Apples by Walter Brandes, directed by Eddie Antar; Save the Veal by Michael Lazan, directed by David Gautschy; Unfamiliar Faces by Glenn Alterman, directed by Keith Greer; Unintelligent Life by John McKinney, directed by Kelly Johnston; and Winter Retreat by Abigail Somma, directed by Ryan Lee.
