Songs Of Lear
Synopsis:
Winner of a Fringe First Award, Songs of Lear brings to life the subtle energies and rhythms that govern Shakespeare's tragedy. Using key scenes from King Lear, the performance weaves a story out of gestures, words and music. Each song is a starting point for another 'dramatic poem' where the music becomes characters, relationships and events. Song of the Goat Theatre create exciting, definition-blurring contemporary performance from a starting point of ancient text, music, dance and song.
