SoundBoxed Collective are a group of theatre makers and musicians based in London. Informed by a strong work ethic of European Theatre, and with a passion for creating and sustaining links abroad, we make work that combines live and recorded sound with physical action, comedy and character work. Songs and texts are borrowed, juxtaposed and experimented with to then contribute to a complex sound structure that forms a theatrical language of our own. We aim to showcase performances that meld striking and evocative sound structures with physical dynamism.

Synopsis:
Created by SoundBoxed Collective The Development is a private members club led by spiritual Guru Jeremiah and his long-term partner Jane Smith. The audience are invited to become a member of The Development for the evening, after witnessing long-term members Joanne and Jazmine play out their struggles: LIVE! Warning: Jeremiah's techniques are often considered controversial. We politely ask that whatever happens at The Development, stays at The Development things unfold between the four walls of our members club that you won't often see elsewhere we'd like to keep it that way, for everyone's sake. . .
Notes:
The performance includes live electronic percussion, guiding the audience on a comedic, energy-fuelled sound and movement experience. Expect action, complimented by live and recorded sound and looping vocal effects building to rousing, textured harmonies. From ancient sounds to modern techno, everyone present is taken on a seductive aural excursion, that seamlessly transforms from a performance piece into an vivacious night out - with music, beats, chanting and dancing. The Development is a highly energetic, physical performance laced with lashings of dark comedy and gently inviting audience participation.
