Square Peg was formed in 2011 with the intention of creating three-dimensional theatre. Our work begins with images, ideas and the empty space. Through play and experimentation, our process is an exploration of what can be done on a stage by an actor or group. Working like this we aim to free ourselves from the rigid two-dimensional page and instead merge the visual and physical elements of theatre with the script. We feel that what is done on stage is as important as what is said they are inseparable within good theatre.

Synopsis:
After a chance encounter two lives are changed forever in this emotional and fast-paced story of fate, sacrifice and love. Told in a non-linear style, Forwards and Backwards is the story of a couples fight for survival, as they realise that their every choice has been an act of betrayal against their dreams, their future and each other. Set within the confines of a train carriage, the action leaps with speed and athletic precision between their past and future selves. Delving deeper into their turbulent and joyous lives together we realise that they are trapped, on a journey they never bargained for, and never wanted.
