Blackbirds
Blackbirds gives a compelling account of the London Blitz told by a group of Londoners who remained in the city. Here the survivors recount their vivid memories; in their own words. In the first month of the Blitz alone 5,730 people were killed and 9,003 seriously injured. By the end of the Blitz in May 1940, just 9 short months later, 43,000 people had been killed, half of them in London.

Crock Of Gold, The
Synopsis:
the Crock of Gold will start not in daylight but at dusk. Part theatre, part outdoor installation, the audience is invited to join the performance in the twilight space of each park just as it is closing to the public. To capture the magical transition from day to night, the start time of the performance will change as the nights draw in. the Crock of Gold is an Irish novel written in 1912 by James Stephens. Mischievous yet hauntingly beautiful, its story tells of a wise philosopher, embroiled in a prank that gets out of hand, who journeys through a forest, encountering the Great God Pan, the police, and the leprechauns, desperate for the return of their gold. He also liberates his senses, long forgotten by his mind.

Dong With A Luminous Nose, The
Synopsis:
Loosely based on Edward Lear's fantastical poem of the same name, playwright Simon Startin has transformed 'the Dong with a Luminous Nose' into a play that's part poetic comedy-Drama and part social-realist-surrealist family theatre. It tells the story of David and his younger brother Daniel who are desperate to escape life with their alcoholic. their wish for excitement is granted by the eponymous Dong, who takes them to the mystical world of Gromboolia where baboons sing in barbershop quartets and French pussycats do a mean Michael Jackson. But at the heart of the fun, frolics and hullabaloo of this outdoor promenade production is an unflinching look at the makings of an angry young man.

From Docks To Desktops
Created from dozens of personal testimonies, this is the story of the changing face of work today. Surrey Docks in South-East London was once a thriving commercial hub, hosting some of the UK's leading commercial brands, including Crosse & Blackwell, Sarson's, Peek Freans and Lipton's. These huge organisations created a myriad of jobs for local people, and the community prospered. But, with the decline of the docks in the 1970s, factories closed down or relocated, work patterns changed and redevelopment began. From Docks to Desktops explores the fascinating story of how one community has survived the 21st-century challenges of urban change and renewal.
