A number of Jeffs plays have been included in the Smith College New Play Reading Series, including Martha Martinez Washington, which was work-shopped at Smith College in August, 2012 (John Hellweg directed). Additionally, Where the Body Is Not was nominated for the Cherry Lane Mentor Project 2013, and was also a semifinalist for the Eugene ONeill Theater Centers 2012 National Playwrights Conference. Hear Me Pray was a semifinalist for the 2013 National Playwrights Conference. Jeff has been writing plays since 1998 when he wrote, produced, and directed Edgar at Niagara County Community College, where he completed his A.S. in Theater. He received his M.F.A. in Playwriting from Smith College in May 2011, where he studied under Len Berkman, and his B.F.A in Dramatic Writing from Purchase College (SUNY) in 2006, where he studied under Kathleen Tolan. Both teachers had an incredible impact on his understanding of how plays work.

Shared Intimacy: Underground
Synopsis:
What happens when three playwrights, three actors, and a director are given two weeks to create a thirty minute play about a relationship that is falling apart in a very public place? Most of us have seen and/or participated in very publicly displayed private-moments in NYC. Whether it's the couple making out on the subway, or the couple arguing in the street, our sharing intimate moments with strangers is almost unavoidable. In this site specific play, a small audience follows a couple as they come to the brink of a break-up during their commute. Whether the couple will remain together or not is a decision that hangs in the balance in a very public way.

Unravellings and Catastrophes
Synopsis:
Unravellings and Catastrophes consists of four short plays, each with a plot and characters unrelated to the next and with very different styles, but linked by the thematic exploration of agendas that come undone. Among the four plays, there are three one acts and a ten minute play. In the one act, Weaving, Henry attempts to juggle his married life with his adulterous life, with poor results. In Seeing and Being Seen, Snyder and Francis are locked in an erotic power struggle, as Snyder tries to help Francis overcome his voyeuristic tendencies. In Towed, Sam attempts to get justice for the towing of his car, but finds himself giving more than he gets. And, finally, in the ten minute farce, Dinner with Peter and Polly, Peters paranoia mixed with Pollys sexual desire ends with the death of Veronica.
