Keeping Mum

Synopsis:
Keeping Mum is a two-act comedy which explores the humour, conflict and support that can be found amongst other mothers. It exposes the bizarre yet workable dynamic of a mothers group with its mix of women who really share nothing in common apart from the fact that theyve all produced babies round the same time of the year. The play is about Felicity, husband Dave, and her Mums group Nicole, Jane, and Cassie - who all tentatively get on and new-comer, Liz. Conflicts develop when Janes life begins unraveling at the same time as Liz - pregnant, eager and raring to go - joins the group. Tension builds at subsequent Mums groups and comes to a head at Janes birthday party for her son Winston that is a thorough disaster. Lines are drawn and Felicity, Jane, Nicole and Cassie struggle with their desire to help each other out - Janes marriage is dissolving and Liz is due any day. It is issued based with contemporary voices.
