Born in Rothbury, Northumberland, on 20th February 1961, Imogen Stubbs was educated at St Paul's Girls' School, Westminster School and Exeter College, Oxford, where she started her acting career. She then trained at RADA and has appeared in over 40 plays throughout her career. She is also a writer, co-writing and directing, Snow On Saturday, for which she won Best British Short Film, and has written the play: We Happy Few. She has worked extensively on Radio, not only as an actor but also as a presenter. In 1994 she married Sir Trevor Nunn, they have two children: Ellie was born in 1991 and Jesse was born in 1996. The couple announced their separation in April in 2011.

Synopsis:
a seven-woman amateur troupe as it travels the country's schools and village greens during the Second World War playing a repertoire of Shakespeare and other classics. Disasters happen, triumphs occur, but above all the show must go on.
