"I make playful and emotive studio and site work. I make work that incorporates autobiographical text, contemporary movement and collaborations with other artists in sound or costume. Through making performance I wish to follow gut instinct, achieve honest reflections on contemporary existence and celebrate the creative agency of the individual. I carry my ideas in everyday life allowing myself to be fed by radio, film, music, often crashing into things unexpectedly. I then discover through performing, shaping the work through seeing what it brings up in people. I use the situation of theatre as a place for experimentation, allowing things to surface after months of peculation. The form of my work is often a collaboration of movement, song, sound and text. I perform because I am enlivened by the challenge and I believe we can create a sense of unity through the exposure of the performed event. I produce work through programming into existing platforms such as the Ausform Microfest or creating frameworks in which to curate performance such as my current project Speeches to the city, which is inspired by previous projects The Parlour Showrooms and the In The City Series - which stirred key interests in me around our use of public space and how we can be political through performance. Hannah is a member of Interval, a collective of a Bristol based performance makers working at The Exchange, St Nicholas Market Bristol." MA in Performance Research, University of Bristol 2010/1. BA in Theatre with Visual Practices, Dartington College of Arts, First Class, 2006 2009

With Force And Noise
With Force And Noise
Synopsis:
When were you last angry? With Force and Noise is Hannah's first attempt at articulating anger. This personal one-woman monologue is delivered from complete stillness, in a bespoke costume designed by collaborating costume designer Annelies Henney. Hannah's text is a woven experience taking inspiration from her own autobiography, punk, protest and discussions with researchers in international politics and emotional study. It rises, falls and simmers.
