Jim Tanner has been acting and writing since 2007 and specializes in single-scene short comedies. Jim grew up in Enfield, North London, studied Politics at the University of Leicester before moving to Finsbury Park. He works a lot with the Hampstead Heat and Light Theatre Company where he has continued to develop new theatre and television pieces with fellow writers and actors. Jim's first two plays, 'Room Temperature' and 'Good Grief,' were both staged within a week at two different writing festivals (the Equinox New Comedy Scene Festival at the Colour House Theatre, Wimbledon and the Wimbledon Bookfest Festival respectively).

Good Grief
Synopsis:
Nelson Urquhart's funeral has slipped the mind of all but three of his friends. Actually, those three friends constitute an overly-casual brother, an acquaintance who pretends to have been Nelson's best friend for attention and only one actual friend disgruntled at the money Nelson owes him. The service has not been planed properly and is running late - which tests the Minister's patience. This is a 10-minute, one act one-scene piece.

Hiatus
Synopsis:
Dominic is an ambitious, confident budding playwright who seriously believes he can make it. By contrast to Dominic's luck, his friend Seth has been made redundant and is reliant on Dominic for accommodation. They have decided to take a trip to the country so they can work on Dom's new book 'The Autobiography of a Nobody.' Forced to make an overnight stop, Seth loses his patience with Dominic's seemingly apathetic attitude toward his plight and decides to let rip. Hiatus is a one-act, one-scene play with a duration of around thirty minutes.

Room Temperature
Synopsis:
Room temperature illuminates on the dysfunctional and hostile relationship of a young, engaged couple. Having spent the evening at a party where they were given an enormous stuffed teddy as an engagement gift, the couple's ability to push each other's buttons comes to boiling point under the fuel of alcohol, the insulting things said and the anguish of things not said. This is a 30-minute, one-act, one-scene piece.
