[photo Seth Olenick] Jona Tarlin was raised in Silicon Valley where his scene was rejected from the fifth grade's production of 1776. It involved a sewing circle ignoring the war outside as blood from the soldiers kept splashing against the window. His newest play, DO YOU HAVE A BACKUP? was read as part of the Theatre for the New Economy's Three Dollar Bill reading series. His play, IN ANTARCTICA, WHERE IT IS VERY WARM was read as part of Lunar Energy Productions MOONSHINE reading series. His play, OFFAL was a semi-finalist for ESPA* Drills at Primary Stages. His monologue CHOCOLATE LAVA CAKE was performed as part of the Soul Food Monologue series for Forward Theatre Co. in Madison, WI. He is the co-creator of 12 Dollar Challenge, a webseries for Food2. He was a staff writer for Private Ear Audio Theatre, which recorded live at the Brooklyn Lyceum. His short play BEER WITH BIGFOOT was performed at the Magnet Theaters You Heard It Here First festival and Pace Universitys Fall Directing Festival, 2010. His short play I CAN HAS PLAY was performed at the inaugural ESPA* Detention at Jimmys no. 43. His play MAMAS, DONT LET YOUR CFOS GROW UP TO BE COWBOYS was performed at Sarah Lawrence College, where he graduated with a BA in Theater and the Lipkin Prize for Playwriting.
