Marisol Tirelli is a native Californian- born in Baja and raised in Santa MonicA. Becoming an artist comes as no surprise, as Marisol stems from an eclectic family background: Her father, Roland Tirelli, was one of the original founders of selling trendy vintage clothing. He brought his family and business from New York City west to Venice, California when she was 4 years old. Marisol was inspired by the Venice Beach street performers and her father's vintage fashion shows (he was also a champion rodeo cowboy, Hollywood stuntman, and a Wild West show producer. . .). Marisol's mother, Angela Dorrego, an eccentric Cuban-Venezuelan native, came to New York City in the 60's with her brother, Rolando Dorrego (renown Venezuelan painter and sculptor), to pursue printmaking and textile design. She has always encouraged Marisol to have a strong passion and appreciation for all the Arts. Marisol is also the niece of Puerto Rican/Italian Broadway stage, television, and film actor, Jaime Tirelli (Hector in Girlfight). Marisol graduated from Pepperdine University in Malibu with a BA degree in Theater, and was admitted to the Actors Studio Drama School by James Lipton, Ellen Burstyn, Martin Landau, and Ann Margaret, where she studied acting for a year. She is now finishing her degree in Theatre at NYU where she is studying playwrighting. She has danced in a Coors Light television commercial, as well as acted and sung on California and New York City stages (Herbst War Memorial Theater in San Francisco, the Matrix Theatre in Hollywood, the Lark Play Development Center, etc.) She has appeared on Inside the Actors Studio with Nicholas Cage, and has recently acted in Eve Ensler's Vagina Monologues for V-Day 2006 in New Jersey. Marisol also paints and writes plays and songs in hopes of healing herself and humanity.
