Rhiannon Tise developed her interest and confidence in playwrighting whilst attending workshops at the Royal Court Young People's Theatre. Her first play WHERE the DEVILS DWELL was given a reading, directed by Jane Collins, at the Royal Court during the Theatre's Young Writers Festival in 1994. A developed version of the play had a platform performance, directed by Afia Nkrumah, at the Lyric Studio, Hammersmith as part of the London New Plays Festival. the SILENT TIME is Rhiannon's second full length play. It received a rehearsed reading, directed by Indhu Rubushingham, as part of last year's Royal Court Young Writer's Festival. Rhiannon has been commissioned by the Chelsea Centre, invited to join the writers group 7:84 and is currently developing her relationship with the Traverse Theatre. This July, Rhiannon travels to Australia, along with five other writers chosen by the Royal Court Young People's Theatre to represent Great Britain at the International Festival of Young Playwrights. Since writing the SILENT TIME, Rhiannon has written two more plays DOG SHIT PARK and SKELETONS and her fifth play LAST TO COME is also underway.

Headstone

Synopsis:
This is a crusade, there is still an Us and them, A Right and a Wrong, A Good and an Evil, there must be or else it's all for naught. James Forrestal, the first Secretary of Defense, is brought to a Naval Hospital outside of Washington, DC, in May of 1949. Suffering from extreme exhaustion, Forrestal attempted suicide and now spends his days terrified of Russian soldiers and Zionist conspirators that lurk around every corner. Waltzer, The
A world of beleaguered single parents and adolescent fears and friendships is reflected in the dark mirror of Sally's experience on her first real date. the garish glamour and hectic motion of the fairground and the Waltzer itself provide a perfect setting for this multi-faceted depiction of the thrills and spills of a teenager's first steps towards the adult world. Originally written for radio, the Waltzer draws much of its power and point from the complex interaction between past and present events, inner monologue and intercut dialogue.
