Amy Tofte received her MFA from California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) Writing for Performance program in May 2011. Her plays FLOOZY and FleshEatingTiger premiered at the Edinburgh Fringe (2010, 2011, respectively). Tiger was remounted at the Hollywood Fringe in 2012 where it was named "Best of Fringe" and nominated for Best Play. Tofte's plays were selected as part of the Last Frontier Theatre Conference in Valdez, AK (2009, 2010, 2011, 2013) and she developed her play WhiteDevilLovingMother at both the Kennedy Center's MFA Playwrights Residency (2009) and on a Visiting Scholar Fellowship at the Autry National Center of the American West (2012). Her plays have been produced throughout the Midwest, New York, Mississippi, Alaska, Los Angeles, Seattle and the United Kingdom. She is a founder of the play development company Fierce Backbone in Los Angeles and a proud member of the Dramatists Guild of America, Inc.

Farm Noir

Synopsis:
Two families (distant relations) named Jorgenson. . .one living in the 1930s, the other in the 1980s. . .discover they are living and farming the same 400 acres of land. As the families move closer together and adapt/conflict with the presence of the others, the children are forced to understand the true meaning of sacrifice as best taught by two distinct sets of parents.

Floozy

Synopsis:
Vee tries to be a nice girl. She lives with best friend Bista a free spirit. Bista's over sexed boyfriend Kevion makes a play for Vee and they spend the night together. Vee badly needed the sex. Meanwhile Bista has started an affair with an older man Bard. Bista becomes pregnant she tells Kevion it is his but it is Bard's. Bard does not want the baby so plans to kill Bista and make it look like it was a botched self abortion attempt. However having done the deed Bard realises he has left something incriminating at the crime scene. He returns for it and is discovered by Kevion. Kevion is dispatched too

Relentless Pursuit of a Lady

Synopsis:
A female journalist is held captive in a foreign country after attempting to speak to local women who are victims of rape. During her interrogation by a male captor, she re-tells an American news story about a vigilante female cop that triggered her ambition to understand sex, violence and women's bodies. . .and ultimately leads to her freedom.

Developed at the 2012 NNPN/Kennedy Center MFA Playwrights Workshop. one of 25 full-length plays that have been selected as finalists for the 2013 Source Festival. Three full-length plays will be selected from the 25 finalists and will be produced at the Source Festival from June 7-30.

Wounded

Synopsis:
Joseph and Jesse Hill live an idyllic life, isolated and in love on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. they help Joseph's Lakota friends (Tanka and Fawn) with illegal firearms, food and other supplies as the tribes are relocated by the U.S. Army. But Jesse has left behind an evil past that now comes looking for her in the form of con-man Cash Wehlun. Jesse stole a large sum of money and Cash wants it back. He also wants her. As the Army tightens its grip on the Lakota, Jesse is forced to find a way to rid herself of Cash once and for all, while preserving her perfect marriage with Joseph. When the soldiers shoot to kill at Wounded Knee, the ghosts of the Lakota seep into the lives of the living. Jesse and Joseph make choices that will either lead to their ruin or deliver them into prosperity. . .but something is certainly lost along the way.
